Hoerikwaggo is the Khoekhoe name for Table Mountain. One of seven Wonders of the World and home to the Khoesan or Khoena and /Xam or San. Haven for runaway slaves, maroons, washerwomen and indigenous fauna and flora. The identity and history of //Hui !Gaeb is woven into its mountain. Khoekhoe mythology tells us that the Khoesan saw the Hoerikwaggo rise out of the sea. Many historical routes exist to the mountain and from it, documenting pathways the Khoekhoen and slaves took either for cultural reasons or as hideouts from the colonial eye.
