Join the Cape Town Museum to celebrate Human Rights Month at Leeuwenhof (14 March 2024)

The Cape Town Museum is celebrating Human Rights Month with a free tour of our exhibitions at the former 'slave' quarters at Leeuwenhof. Usually closed to the public (Leeuwenhof is the residence of the Premier of the Western Cape), this is a unique opportunity to visit this place of remembrance and to learn about the links between historical enslavement at the Cape and its repercussions on human rights in South Africa. The talk will also touch on the issue of modern enslavement as a current human rights violation experienced by many across the world.

Date: Thursday 14, March 2024

Time: 10:30 am

Venue: Leeuwenhof Estate, 59 Hof Street, Gardens, Cape Town

Please RSVP with your name and ID number to Lucretia.Petersen@westerncape.gov.za by 12 March 2024. Due to security arrangements at Leeuwenhof, access can be denied if attendance has not been confirmed by the RSVP date.
