Young Artist Competition - Cape Town Museum and Africa Unite
Cape Town Museum in partnership with Africa Unite School Leadership Club is organising a school art exhibition to celebrate Youth Month and to highlight the importance of education in shaping the future of African youth. The theme is: “Breaking the Chains of Inequality: A Journey Through South Africa's Education System”.
The reality is that many of our youth today are still trapped in an education system marked by inequality and neglect. The state of education in South Africa is characterised by crumbling infrastructure, overcrowded classrooms, and systemic failures that disproportionately affect the most vulnerable. In this context, we recognise the urgent need for major change to fulfil the promise of a decent education for every child.
The purpose of the art competition is to:
Shed light on the challenges facing South Africa's education system;
Raise awareness about the urgent need for reform; and
Empower youth to advocate for meaningful reforms.

The competition is open to learners of all ages enrolled in schools across Cape Town.
Learners are invited to create artwork (paintings, drawings) that reflects their interpretation of the theme.
